The Thomson facility began production in the summer of 1997. This is a three-shift operation producing molded resinated cotton fiber automotive components, which includes Outer Dashes, Hoodliners, Tunnel Silencers, Package Trays and trunk parts. The parts provide a wide variety of applications including heat shields/barriers, acoustical properties and surface trim. Typical manufacturing processes include airlay felt processing, hot oil and electric heated molding and 3-D trimming. Currently the plant is +150,000 ft2 with potential to expand to +250,000 ft 2.
