The
Thomson facility began production in the summer of 1997. This is a
three-shift
operation, producing molded resinated cotton fiber automotive
components, which include outer dashes, hoodliner, tunnel silencers,
package trays and trunk parts.
The parts provide a wide variety of applicaions, including heat
shields/barriers, acoustical properties and surface trim.
Typical
manufacturing processes include airlay felt processing, hot oil and
electric heated molding and 3-D trimming.
The current facility size for Thomson is
+150,000 ft2
with the
potential to expand to +250,000 ft2.
